What makes Restylane Skinboosters™ different to other fillers?

Restylane Skinboosters™ effectively retain water deep within the lower layers of the skin for longer-lasting hydration, which makes this solution ideal for treating larger areas of fine lines.

Am I suitable for treatment?

Most patients can be treated with Restylane Skinboosters™, but we will confirm your suitability for treatment during your consultation, where we will carry out a thorough assessment of your medical history. You won’t be able to undergo the procedure if you are:

• Pregnant or breastfeeding
• Allergic to the filler or lidocaine combined with the filler
• Suffering from an active infection at the site of injection
• Taking blood thinning medication, due to the increased risk of bleeding and bruising

Is treatment painful?

Having Restylane Skinboosters™ injected into the skin can be an uncomfortable process, but is not usually painful – particularly as the filler contains a local anaesthetic that minimises discomfort. We also apply a cream to numb the treatment area first.

What can I expect from the appointment?

You will be required to fill out a medical form during your initial consultation, which will also involve taking photographs of the treatment area. Dr James Littler, who is a facial aesthetics expert at Ten Dental+Facial, will explain the treatment process, before discussing your aesthetic goals and whether these will be possible to achieve. The procedure can begin once you have signed a consent form that confirms you are happy to proceed with it.

Following this, James will cleanse your skin using antiseptic wipes, before injecting the Restylane Skinboosters™ in the desired area, which will be massaged thoroughly to ensure an even spread of the product.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

For the best results, we recommend:

• One start-up course – typically 3 treatments administered 4 weeks apart
• Regular maintenance sessions – approximately every 6 months

Will I notice the results immediately?

Restylane Skinboosters™ are unlike dermal fillers in that the results of treatment with this solution tend to be progressive. Therefore, the changes in your skin condition will be much more subtle and natural-looking. Although it is not always immediately apparent, the overall health and appearance of your skin will ultimately improve in the weeks and months after the first session of treatment. Results typically last for up to 12 months.

What should I do after treatment?

Take care to avoid:

• Touching the treated area for at least 6 hours
• Exposing yourself to extreme temperatures from steam rooms, saunas and UV light, which should resolve any swelling that is apparent
• Consuming any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen) for at least 24 hours

Sterile concealer or mineral make-up can be applied immediately.

Are there any side effects of treatment?

• Swelling
• Redness
• Bruising
• Itching

These side effects usually resolve within 2 to 4 days.

How much are Restylane Skinboosters™?

The cost of treatment is £600 for 3 treatments, administered 4 weeks apart. You can expect to pay £250 for a six-month treatment boost.
