Chemical Skin Peels London

At Ten Dental + Facial, we use the high quality ZO® range of skincare products to provide professional skin peel treatment. This chemical solution is applied to your face as a liquid, where it exfoliates and eventually peels off, removing dead skin cells to reveal a new, healthier layer of skin underneath. This can help reduce the signs of aging for a smoother and more youthful appearance.

What is the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel?

This procedure involves applying a highly potent and effective skin peel formula in order to improve the texture of the skin and ensure longer-lasting results than alternative peels. As well as treating a variety of skin conditions, the purpose of this treatment is to improve the overall health and appearance of your skin.

How does the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel work?

As its name suggests, treatment is delivered in three steps:

  • Step 1: A peel solution containing tricloracetic (TCA), salicylic and lactic acid is applied to remove the outer layer of skin.
  • Step 2: A cream containing a 6% concentration of retinol, as well as other multi-action agents, is applied to repair the skin at a deeper level and reverse the signs of ageing.
  • Step 3: An advanced, multi-function formula is applied to rapidly reduce skin irritation and inflammation, while restoring moisture.

What are the benefits of treatment?*

The ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel:

  • Can help reduce acne
  • Can enhance the skin’s natural DNA protection
  • Can help reduce melasma (brown or grey patches)
  • Can help minimise hyperpigmentation (dark spots)
  • Can revitalise the skin for a softer, more even skin tone
  • Can support barrier function and improve the skin’s ability to repair itself
  • Can boost collagen production and reduce wrinkles for visibly firmer skin
  • Can provide powerful antioxidants that help repair skin damage resulting from pollutants and sun damage

Am I suitable for the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel?

The advantage of this solution is that it is safe on any skin colour. During your consultation, your medical history will be carefully assessed to determine whether you are suitable for this chemical peel, but generally most people are. You may not be able to undergo the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel if you have a sensitivity or allergy to:

  • Latex
  • Lactic acid
  • Citric acid
  • Retinol (vitamin A)
  • Aspirin and its derivative, salicylic acid

Other patients that may not be suitable for treatment include those who:

  • Are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Are suffering from wounds or sunburns in the area to be treated
  • Have a history of radiation therapy in the area to be treated
  • Have active herpes simplex or warts in the area to be treated

How long is the procedure for the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel?

Treatment is relatively quick and should take no longer than 30 to 45 minutes.

Is the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel painful?

Depending on the patient, treatment is not usually painful. Don’t worry if you feel a hot, uncomfortable sensation during and after treatment, as this is typical of the procedure. We use fans and apply high quality creams to cool the skin and minimise discomfort as much as possible.

What can I expect from the appointment?

Preparing your skin is vital before applying the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel. This helps to ensure your skin is better able to accept the peel once it is applied, thereby reducing the risk of any adverse reactions. As such, you must be on a ZO® skincare regime based on your skin type for at least 4 to 6 weeks prior to treatment. This preparation process may take longer for those with darker skin tones. Once your skin has been pre-conditioned, the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel will be applied in three stages, as discussed above.

When will I notice the results? *

Patients typically notice the benefits of this peel once their skin has started to heal, which can take up to a week or longer. Your skin should be noticeably healthier in the ongoing weeks and months following the procedure. In order to maintain optimal results, we recommend that treatment with the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel is repeated 2 to 3 times per year. The desired outcome can also be achieved by repeating treatment every 3 to 4 weeks.

What should I do after treatment?

As with any other skin peel, avoiding exposure to direct sunlight is essential immediately after treatment. We will provide professional aftercare instructions with regard to washing and cleaning the treated area, but please let us know if you require further advice and guidance on maintaining the results of the peel.

Are there any side effects of the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel?

Side effects can vary from patient to patient. It is perfectly normal to experience redness, stinging, itching, and mild swelling in the treated area, but your skin may also flake and peel. These side effects usually occur 2 days after the peel is applied, but typically subside by the fifth day following completion of treatment. We will provide a soothing cream to help relieve any discomfort.

We recommend you plan for the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel 1 week before any events you may be attending, so as to provide your skin the opportunity to recover from the procedure.

What is the price of the ZO® Medical 3-Step Peel?

The cost of treatment is £250 per peel.

Enerpeel® MA

What is an Enerpeel® MA?

Enerpeel® MA is a mild, all-year-round chemical skin peel that is applied as a liquid, where it “blisters” and eventually peels off, removing dead skin cells and stimulating the growth of new ones for a natural-looking glow. Ideal for all skin types, Enerpeel® MA is safe and effective as an exfoliator that leaves skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, with minimal to no risk of facial redness. Containing 40% mandelic acid and 5% MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), it is often used as a summer peel for those who may be concerned about increased sensitivity to UV light from using other peels.

What can Enerpeel® MA be used to treat?

  • Facial redness
  • The signs of aging
  • Hormonal, sun or age-related pigmentation problems
  • Inflammatory pigmentation or those who are more at risk of this from using other peels

Enerpeel® MA can also be used for skin remodelling to improve the appearance of lines, wrinkles, skin texture and impurities.

Am I suitable for Enerpeel® MA?

Most people can be treated with an Enerpeel® MA, but during your consultation, we will evaluate your medical history to ensure this is the case for you. Patients that are not suitable for treatment include those who:

  • Are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Are suffering from wounds or sunburns in the area to be treated
  • Have a history of radiation therapy in the area to be treated

Have active herpes simplex or warts in the area to be treated

How long is the procedure for an Enerpeel® MA?

Typically, treatment can be completed within 30 to 45 minutes.

Is an Enerpeel® MA painful?

Treatment is not painful, but you might feel a slight tingling sensation during and after the procedure. We will provide you with a neutraliser wipe that can be used to help minimise any discomfort you may experience.

What can I expect from the appointment?

We will schedule a professional consultation, which will involve filling out a medical form. The treating clinician will take photographs of your face and discuss the procedure with you in detail, providing you the chance to ask any questions. Treatment can begin once you have signed a consent form.

What should I do after treatment?

As with any other skin peel, it is important that you avoid exposing yourself to direct sunlight immediately after treatment. No down time is required to recover from the procedure, so you can return to work as soon as you wish.

Are there are any side effects of Enerpeel® MA?

There are minimal side effects resulting from an Enerpeel® MA, which is why it has become a very popular solution. However, you may notice that your skin is a little dry for a few days. As an expert in facial aesthetics, our team member – Dr James Littler – recommends having an Enerpeel® MA 2 to 3 days before any planned events in case of any dryness.

When will I notice the results of an Enerpeel® MA?*

Most patients notice excellent results immediately, and in the weeks and months after treatment. Your skin should look and feel noticeably fresher with an improvement in texture and tone. To benefit from the very best results, Dr Littler recommends that you undergo a course of 4 to 6 peels, which are carried out two weeks at a time, and then 4 courses per year. This may not be the most feasible option for you, but don’t worry – the Enerpeel® MA can be performed as and when instant rejuvenation is required.

How much is an Enerpeel® MA?

The cost of treatment is £125 per peel. We offer a discount of 10% to those who book a specific number of appointments and pay for them in advance.
