What can the HydraFacial be used to treat?

The HydraFacial can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, as well as oily and congested skin. Not only can HydraFacial treatment improve the skin’s elasticity and firmness, but it can also reduce the appearance of mild acne, brown spots and enlarged pores for improved skin tone, texture and vibrancy. Am I suitable for HydraFacial treatment?

HydraFacial treatment is suitable for all ages and skin types, as it is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating, and immediately effective. However, we will assess your medical history to rule out anything that could compromise results. We can also customise treatment to suit your unique skin condition. The HydraFacial may not be appropriate for patients who are:

• Pregnant or breastfeeding
• Suffering from an active infection in the area to be treated
• Suffering from active rashes, sunburns or rosacea (inflammation) in the area to be treated
• Allergic to the serums/skincare products that may be used as part of the treatment

Is HydraFacial treatment painful?

This procedure is not typically painful. Those who have never undergone a facial may find the HydraFacial treatment slightly uncomfortable, but most patients compare the experience to a light massage.

What can I expect from the appointment?

A consultation will be scheduled, where you will need to fill out a medical form and photographs of your face will be taken. Treatment will be explained, before we discuss your aesthetic goals with you and how realistic these are to achieve. You will then be asked to sign a consent form, which will enable us to proceed with treatment.

The procedure typically lasts between 30 minutes to an hour. Your skin will be cleansed to extract any impurities that may be clogging the pores. This is when dead skin cells, make-up, dirt and oil will be removed, before various serums are applied to complete the treatment process.

How long will it take for treatment to work, and how long does it last?

Your skin should feel smoother and more hydrated immediately after the HydraFacial. These results can last for up to a week or even longer, depending on your post-treatment skincare routine. The HydraFacial can be repeated as and when required, but we recommend that treatment is performed once a week or month to maintain optimal results.

What should I do after I’ve had HydraFacial treatment?

You should:

• Avoid exposing yourself to intense sunlight and artificial UV light
• Protect the treated skin by applying at least an SPF 30 sun cream daily
• Only apply sterile concealer or mineral make-up immediately after treatment

Are there any side effects of the HydraFacial?

Your skin may feel slightly tight for about an hour or so following treatment. You might also experience some mild redness or peeling of your skin if you’ve undergone more advanced treatment, but don’t worry. These side effects are completely normal and will resolve themselves within a few days.
