Lip Fillers & Lip Enhancement

Reasons why you may need lip enhancement

If your lips are thin or have lost their fullness and definition then our lip enhancement or lip augmentation treatment could be perfect for you. Lip fillers can help to enhance the shape of your lips, giving them more volume. Our tailor-made approach to treatment means that you can have the natural and beautiful looking lips you desire.

What to expect from Ten Dental lip fillers London?

Following a consultation, we will check your medical history and suitability for lip fillers treatment. Our trained practitioners will inject filler into the treatment area. Treatment usually takes around 45 minutes and you will be able to return to work from 0-24 hours with the perfect pout.*

Where to find lip fillers London?

All our lip fillers treatment is carried out by leading facial aesthetics practitioners, Dr Zohaib Ali and Dr James Littler at our modern treatment centres in Balham, Clapham and Wandsworth.

Leading Lip Enhancement London

Ten Dental Facial provides some of the best lip fillers in London from its three state of the art treatment centres in Balham, Clapham and Wandsworth.*

Why lip enhancement?

If you have imagined having fuller more defined lips then this is the treatment for you. Plumper lips with a defined border are a feature of youthful attractiveness.

Dr James Littler will provide you an individual treatment to give great natural looking results whilst providing facial harmony.

More subtle treatment can also be carried out to reduce ‘lipstick bleeding’ and smokers lines.

What is lip enhancement?

Lip enhancement is usually made by dermal filler injections.

Dermal fillers are natural or synthetic gels that are injected into the skin to volumise and lift.

Most fillers are mainly composed of non-animal sourced hyaluronic acid (HA). This is a naturally occurring molecule found in skin and all soft tissues in the body. It attracts and binds water in the skin providing volume and hydration. As we age, the amount of HA produced by our bodies reduces.

Fillers are manufactured by cross linking the hyaluronic acid with proteins to produce a clear sterile gel for injection into the lips.

Am I suitable for treatment?

A full medical history will be taken at the consultation but generally most people are suitable for treatment.

Treatment is not suitable for anyone…

  • who is pregnant or breastfeeding
  • allergy to filler or lidocaine mixed in with the filler
  • active infection at the site of injection
  • on blood thinning medication due to the increased risk of bleeding and bruising

Is the treatment painful?

Many dermal fillers contain a local anesthetic which makes the procedure more comfortable. A numbing cream will be applied prior to the treatment which will help numb the lips as this can be a sensitive area.

A dental block can also be offered for a virtually pain free experience.

What will happen at the appointment?

A consultation will be carried out including medical questionnaire and photographs. Dr Littler will then discuss your aesthetic goals and how realistic this will be to achieve.

A consent form will need to be signed.

Your lips will then be cleaned with antiseptic wipes and Dr Littler will inject the filler with a pre-filled syringe or cannula. The area will then be thoroughly massaged to evenly spread the filler.

How long will it take to work and how long will it last?

The results will be noticeable immediately after the treatment. Visible correction typically lasts six months to a year after treatment. A review appointment is offered after two weeks to evaluate the results and possible further treatment.

Treatment can be repeated as and when needed.

What to do after the treatment?

  • Avoid touching or applying lipstick for up to 6 hours
  • Avoid extremes of temperature such as saunas, steam rooms and exposure to UV light until any swelling has resolved.
  • Avoid any non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs such as aspirin and ibuprofen for 24 hours.

Are there any side effects?

There may be some post treatment swelling, redness, bruising and itching which usually resolves after 2-4 days.

In people with cold sore susceptibility we may need to prescribe some medication before treatment to reduce risk of this occurring post treatment.
