What does underarm sweating treatment do?

The protein solution that is injected into the skin under the arm blocks the chemical that activates the body’s sweat glands. By disrupting this biological process, the protein solution effectively “turns off” the body’s ability to sweat in the area where it is injected.

You are not suitable for underarm sweating treatment if you:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have a skin infection in the area required to be treated
• Have a neuromuscular condition (e.g. myasthenia gravis, Eaton-Lambert)
• Are allergic to the protein solution used
• Are taking aminoglycoside antibiotics (e.g. gentamycin, clindamycin)

What can I expect from the appointment?

Once we have disinfected the treatment area, we will carry out a series of small, superficial injections. Treatment will take effect within 1 to 2 weeks. Results will typically last between 5 to 8 months, but ongoing care may be required if you wish to enjoy the effects for longer.

What should I do before and after treatment?

• BEFORE: Try to shave or trim the underarm area 2 to 3 days before treatment, not on the day of the procedure.
• ON THE DAY OF TREATMENT: Do not use any antiperspirant or deodorant.
• AFTER: Avoid strenuous exercises, steam rooms and saunas for at least 24 hours
