Thinking About Getting Invisalign Clear Braces? Here are some commonly asked questions.

1. Does it work? I have been to some other dentists and have been told Invisalign doesn’t work as well as metal braces.
This is a matter of opinion and very much case sensitive. On the opinion side, if you ask a dentist that may be trained by Invisalign but only has a few cases under his belt, his level of experience and confidence is not going to allow him to take on perhaps more complicated cases as they may simply not know how to use the Invisalign system to the best of its ability, but I do believe in time, with more experience they may have a different answer.

Perhaps you should qualify that dentist’s opinion by asking him how many cases have they done and have they treated a similar case to yours in the past.
Beware also of what their area of expertise are, as many dentists may recommend porcelain veneers and crowns instead of Invisalign, only because that’s what they do regularly, and it’s easier for them to stick to what they’ve always been doing.

If you have any crowding, don’t be fooled! Porcelain Veneers although can be a treatment of choice for light crowding, it is NOT the best treatment always, and often aligning teeth into their correct position before placing the porcelain veneers will give you that perfect smile.

If you want to see some real cases look under our Smile Gallery  CLICK HERE  or watch our patients video HERE. Please be aware some cases are best treated by orthognathic surgery and metal braces, and this is the most severe cases, depending again on your expectations of the results.

At your FREE CONSULTATION we can assess if you are a candidate for Invisalign and discuss all other available options. You must be committed to wearing the aligners for 22 hours each day, the teeth will not move as per the prescription and yes, otherwise you can then say Invisalign doesn’t work!
2. Do I have to come in every two weeks to see the dentist to change these aligners?
Most patient’s know that the Aligners need to be changed very two weeks and the idea of coming in to the dentist fortnightly to get a new aligner seems like too much work.
The answer is NO…you do not have to come in every 2 weeks to pick up the aligners.
Once we have approved them the Aligners are premade by Invislaign and we will give you a pack of aligners to take home with you. You will still need to come for check ups every few months.
