Have you been considering braces? In 2021, a study by the British Orthodontic Society found that 84% of orthodontists saw a spike in adult patients between 2020 and 2021. Whether due to an increased time on video calls over the last two years or awareness of available solutions, our uneven teeth are bothering us more than ever.

If you are reminded of your dental imperfections every time you look in the mirror, chances are it’s time to take action. You might be thinking: ‘how do I choose the right braces when there are so many options?’. We are here to help – at Ten Dental, we offer eight options to suit all patients:

Invisalign

Invisalign is the perfect option if you are looking for discreet, convenient treatment. The aligners are nearly invisible – there are no brackets or wires involved, just a series of aligners that are changed every two weeks to inch your teeth towards the final position. They are also removable, which means you can brush, floss and eat whenever you want.

White fixed braces

In-Ovation braces are another discreet option; the brackets are clear and use a state of the art sliding system to prevent pain and friction. The treatment time is around four months less than traditional braces, plus they are much more comfortable. We offer In-Ovation braces to patients who aren’t suitable for Invisalign.

Metal braces

These are the most suitable for all patients, including those with the most severe misalignments, as they achieve a great deal of movement. Unlike other options, they are visible and can be uncomfortable to wear.

Lingual braces

Lingual braces are attached to the back of your teeth, making them virtually invisible to others. They achieve the complex teeth movement of traditional braces without the unsightly wires, potential enamel damage or discolouration.

Six Month Smiles

Six Month Smiles employs tooth-coloured wires and brackets to straighten your smile in – you guessed it – six months. It is the perfect option if you are looking for quick results, say before a wedding or birthday. The braces are discreet and comfortable, although the treatment may not improve your bite like other options.

Inman aligner

This removable aligner uses a transparent bar and a coiled spring to squeeze teeth into alignment. It boasts one of the fastest treatment times and is also a budget-friendly choice. However, Inman aligners are only suitable for those with mild issues affecting the front teeth.

Cfast braces

This new treatment uses tooth-coloured wires and brackets to straighten the front six teeth. They are discreet, cost-effective, comfortable and fast-acting – the treatment can be complete in six months.

Children’s orthodontics

Your child can start orthodontic treatment from eight years old. We offer interceptive orthodontics as the baby teeth fall out and the permanent ones emerge – this guides jaw growth, reduces the risk of crowded adult teeth and corrects misalignments caused by thumb-sucking.
